| CHAI has been in the field of health for over 60 years.
It has expertise in the following areas:
CHAI helps organisations to develop project proposals
according to the prescribed format of application of
various funding partners.
- Prefunding study for projects –
Pre- funding studies involve project appraisals - a
process of assessing the anticipated costs and benefits
of proposed projects or programmes as a basis for making
funding decisions. More specifically, project appraisal
has three main functions:
To help the funding partner decide whether or not to
go ahead with a particular project or programme
To compare the advantages and disadvantages of two or
more alternative ways of achieving a particular objective
and
To rank a number of different project proposals, designed
to achieve different objectives, in order of priority
for funding
Midterm evaluation
The purpose of mid-term evaluation is to assist decision-makers
and implementers to incorporate necessary adjustment
or modification in objectives, strategies, policies,
activities and spending patterns and also providing
suggestions to work towards sustainability of the programme.
During this assessment the views of different stakeholders
would be taken into consideration, namely, the project
staff, representatives of the target group, supporting
institutions and other networking organizations etc.
Concurrent monitoring of projects.
Continuous and close monitoring is required for supporting
the implementing organisation to ensure the quality
of the project.
The various activities undertaken by CHAI in this regard
are:
• Continuous interaction with the implementing
agency, staff and other stakeholders through frequent
visits.
• Supporting the implementing partners in planning
and reviewing the programmes quarterly.
• Supporting the implementing agency in collecting
and analyzing field level data on the implementation
of programmes to monitor the progress of activities.
• Supporting the implementing organization to
develop field level MIS system to generate data from
the field.
• Supporting the implementing organization to
carry out case studies to assess the impact of the programme.
To provide feed back to the implementing partner as
well as to the funding partner on the progress of the
project and the corrective mechanisms to be implemented
for achieving the objectives of the project.
