A UNIQUE SYNERGISED PROGRAMME IN HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION

These two institutions and a number of the leading hospitals of the country have come together to offer a joint programme in hospital administration for the benefit of the hospitals of the country. Participants from overseas will also be welcomed to the programme. In designing and conducting the programme, the institutions have the advise and inspiration of a number of leading hospital administrators.

The programme will be conducted at the extension Campus of XIME in Electronics City, Phase II, Hosur Road, Bangalore-560100.

Programme Objectives

Provide a comprehensive understanding of the total Health Care System and the role of a hospital as a key sub-system of this vitally important sector. Develop better understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of hospital administration and provide the students with concrete insights into various functional aspects of the same. To help the students develop efficient planning and management practices and thus improve the standards of hospital administration.

Develop a holistic approach to the management of a hospital. Develop in the students a keen desire and matching competencies for improvement and innovation in hospital services.

Eligibility
The course is open to graduates of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, commerce, law, management life sciences or administrative staff of hospitals having a graduate degree.

Age Limit
Candidates seeking admission to this course should normally be below 40 years of age.

The Facilities

8 classrooms with seating capacities ranging from 40 to 120, each equipped with public address system and data projectors.

Hostel for all students
Fully wired campus with computer and internet center with over 170 computers.
Executive Conference Hall for management development programmes (MDPs)
Auditorium with a seating capacity of 300.
On campus gymnasium & games facilities like basketball, volley ball, badminton and table tennis.
Students lounge with entertainment facilities.
Up-to-date library with about 7500 books and over 150 journals.
Canteen and dining room; Coffee/coke vending machines.

Those students, who wish to have accommodation in the Hostel, must pay the following fees and abide by the Hostel rules:

Hostel Fee per month is expected to be about Rs. 3,500 per month (liable to change if the cost goes up). A Hostel Deposit of Rs. 7,000 (Refundable) is to be made by the Hostel residents. For Women participants and Nuns, hostel accommodation will be arranged at nearby convent hostels.

Application for Admission to the Programme
Application Forms and Programme bulletin are available at the XIME Admissions Office or at CHAI on payment of Rs. 250 in cash or by bank Demand Draft drawn in favour of XIME Bangalore.

The filled in application with all the necessary enclosures with a Registration Fee of Rs. 250 (non refundable) by Crossed Bank Demand Draft in favour of XIME, Bangalore, should be sent to the admissions office of XIME by December15, 2005.

Admissions to the Programme
Admissions to the programme will be based on:
The Academic background Relevant experience. The write up on the individuals objectives in pursuing the course Group discussion and interview.


Fee Structure

The programme fee (covering Admission, Tuition, Library, Computer Centre,Establishment, Examinations, Diploma, Activities and Alumni Association Membership) is Rs. 48,000. It is to be paid in three installments as indicated below:


First : Rs. 18,000 on admission

Second : Rs. 15,000 in the first month of the Second Term

Third : Rs. 15,000 in the first month of the Third Term


In addition, the candidates will have to make a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 6,000 at the time of admission. A payment of Rs. 6,000 will also have to be made towards the cost of Books and Programme materials to be supplied. This also can be paid in three installments.

Fee concessions will be offered in deserving cases.
